If there was a Jazz World Cup, the participants of this project would be included in the Lithuanian team. Jazz is not a sport, but spirits run high in the creative work of Neda and the Artūras Anusauskas Quartet. Neda Malūnavičiūtė is one of the best vocalists in Lithuania, recognised by both pop fans, who buy her CDs in large quantities, and jazz gourmets, who invite her to various international projects and festivals. She has participated in Gone with Jazz, Leonidas Šinkarenko Jazz 4, and Vilnius Jazz Quartet, projects that have been inscribed in the recent history of Lithuanian jazz. Neda has a long history of cooperation with the Artūras Anusauskas Quartet, a group that includes prominent jazz musicians, composers, and educationalists. The pianist Artūras Anusauskas has recorded two albums of his original compositions and holds the Golden Disc award of the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union. He has also played and held master classes in many countries. Vytautas Labutis, a multifaceted saxophone player and Eugenijus Kanevičius on bass, have played together with all the famous Lithuanian jazz musicians; the range of their music takes in free-jazz and avant garde performances. The drummer, Darius Rudis, a musician of the younger generation, has claimed his place among established jazz performers and is now considered one of the best drummers in Lithuania. The group, known for their improvisational skills, explores new colour ranges of their music and offers surprises at each stage performance. Therefore, no matter how many times you listen to them, the joy of discovery is guaranteed.
